Green Flash at Sunset

While green is not the last color in the visible light spectrum, the
shorter blues and violets tend to be filtered out and scattered by the
atmosphere. This phenomenon is known as an "inferior-mirage flash" or a
"mock-mirage flash." Regardless of which type it is, they only last 1-2
seconds and are generally not seen by the naked eye.
